“Walk in Beauty”
In her undergraduate study, Kelly traveled to the Navajo Nation in the Southwestern region of the U.S. as part of the Navajo Oral History Project in the summer of 2012.
The student teams, lead by Professor Tom Grier and Robbie Christiano, documented the lives of Navajo elders.
In their three weeks spent on The Reservation, the students photographed, interviewed, researched and filmed stories of the lives of those who were here long ago. They were privileged to hear the many stories the elders passed along.
The Navajo people, and in particular the Code Talkers from WWII, are heroes, and responsible for many of the freedoms citizens of the United States of America have today.
